What is Music Duo Academy?
Music Duo Academy is a full-year music curriculum for elementary kids, with 35 weeks of step-by-step video lessons. It’s designed to be easy for parents to use at home—no subscriptions, no guesswork, just real music learning.
What age can my child start Music Duo Academy?
Any child starting Kindergarten through 5th grade can begin Music Duo Academy, depending on their previous music experience.
How do I know what level to start my child?
Our placement wizard will help you choose the right starting point. If your child ends up in a level that feels too easy or too hard, just reach out—we’ll help you switch to the best fit.
What’s the difference between the Monthly Plan and the One-Time Payment?
Monthly Plan – $29.97/month for 12 months
This option gives you full access to one course, with the flexibility to move at your child’s pace. Payments are spread over 12 months, and access lasts for one full year. There’s no auto-renewal and nothing to cancel.
One-Time Payment – $327
Pay once and get immediate access to the full course for a full year. No ongoing payments—just one and done.
Can a child with special needs still be successful with Music Duo Academy?
Absolutely. This curriculum has been used successfully with many children who have special needs. Every child is different, and you know your child best. We’re happy to help you choose the level that fits—and adjust if needed—so your child can learn and grow with confidence.
What if I don't have any musical experience? Can my child still be successful?
Yes! Music Duo Academy brings a qualified music teacher right into your home, so you don’t need any music background to get started. Your role is simply to encourage your child and join in when you can. And who knows—you might end up learning right alongside them!
Do I have to buy an instrument to participate in the program?
Nope! Instruments are not required. Your child can use body percussion, singing, or simple homemade instruments (like pencils for rhythm sticks). Virtual instruments can also be used in place of xylophones or glockenspiels.
That said, having real instruments can make the experience even more engaging. We’ve partnered with West Music to recommend beginner-friendly kits. If you’d like to add instruments to your child’s learning, just head to the Shop tab to purchase them.
How do we get the most out of Music Duo Academy?
Consistency is key! Music is like learning a language—it takes steady practice over time. We recommend doing one lesson per week to build real understanding and long-term skills. Students who sing, move, and actively participate each week get the most out of the program. A little progress each week adds up—and your encouragement helps it stick!
Can I pause or cancel my plan?
Our plans aren’t subscriptions—they’re simply different ways to purchase a full-year course. You can either pay all at once or spread the cost over 12 monthly payments. Because of that setup, payments continue automatically and can’t be paused or canceled after the 2-week trial.
We offer the trial period so you have time to explore the course and make sure it’s a good fit for your child before your first payment.
We know life can be unpredictable, and we truly want the best for your family. If something unexpected comes up, please don’t hesitate to reach out at sales@musicduoacademy.com—we’re always happy to help however we can.
Do you ever add new content?
We sure do! This year we added Maestro 2 for older kids, along with built-in quizzes and new vocal explorations. We’re always working behind the scenes on more games, activities, and helpful tools to make music learning even better for your family.
